Weekly briefing of the Foreign Ministry Spokesman

Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hassan Qashqavi, said on Monday that Iran has no specific plan to lower relations with Britain.
Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, he made the remarks in response to a question on presence of Iran`s ambassador to London at Parliamentary Commission on National Security and Foreign Affairs and the Commission`s recommendation to review level of Tehran-London relations.
He added that the commission`s move to invite ambassadors was an ordinary procedure.
Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hassan Qashqavi, said that Iran and Russia are seriously determined to complete and put into operation the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
He said Bushehr power plant has nothing to do with the current nuclear talks with Group 5+1.
He added that negotiations between Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili and EU foreign policy chief, Javier Solana continue in a positive and constructive atmosphere.
Qashqavi stressed that Iran has always been ready to give response to any possible question raised by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Iran`s cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog is based on regulations of the Safeguards Agreement, he noted.
Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hassan Qashqavi, said that Iran and the United Arab Emirates are seriously determined to remove the misunderstanding and boost all-out ties.
He said Tehran welcomes expansion of ties with the UAE.
On possible participation of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the upcoming Persian Gulf Cooperation Council summit, he said the main objective of recent visit to Tehran of the Qatari Emir was to announce willingness of the PGCC member states to promote ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Qashqavi added that bilateral relations would lead to promotion of peace and security in the entire region.
Referring to imminent visit to Dushanbe, Tajikistan, of President Ahmadinejad, he said the Iranian president is to attend Shanghai Summit there.
Ahmadinejad is also to meet his counterparts and senior officials of the member states on the sidelines of the Summit.
Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hassan Qashqavi, on Monday expressed concern over Israeli atrocities in Palestine.
He told reporters that the Israeli measures are against all UN resolutions.
Qashqavi urged all Muslim nations to fulfill their commitments to the Palestinian people.
As to visit to Tehran of Rosatom State Atomic Corporation of Russia Director Sergei Kiriyenko, Qashqavi said the main objective of his visit is to review issues related to the Bushehr power plant.
He added that the Bushehr power plant will become operational in the near future.
On future visit to the Islamic Republic of Turkish foreign minister, Qashqavi said the recent visit to Turkey of President Ahmadinejad was successful and constructive.
Both Iran and Turkey are willing to further boost bilateral cooperation in all areas, particularly in the field of energy, he said, adding that the Turkish FM and Iranian officials will review issues related to bilateral energy cooperation.
Qashqavi further announced that Iraqi President Jalal Talabani will visit Tehran in the future.
He added that no time has been fixed for his visit yet.
