Serbian Deputy Foreign Minister Radiko Begovic conferred with Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here Monday. In the meeting the two sides discussed bilateral relations, regional and international issues. `The foreign minister, by referring to the history of ties between the two countries, said there are many commonalities between Iran and Serbia such as independence-seeking. ` He continued, `The existing vast economic potentials for mutual cooperation prepare an appropriate ground for bilateral ties upon mutual interests. ` Mottaki called for continuation of consultations between the two countries and by referring to the developments in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon said Iran will support Lebanese consensus and a comprehensive solution upon different groups` decision and called the US policy on Lebanon a mistake. ` The Serbian senior diplomat, for his part, called his talks in Tehran `useful and constructive` and added, `Serbia gives special attention to its relations with Iran. ` By underlining deep bilateral ties, the visiting Serbian deputy foreign minister called for increased cooperation in political and economic fields and added Serbia will support Iran`s presence in the Black Sea Cooperation Organization as an observer. He also presented a report on the latest development in Balkan.
