Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said here Saturday that Iran and Belgium enjoy appropriate potentials to solve problems. He made the remark while talking to reporters on the sideline of a ceremony to hand over a released Belgian national to his country`s officials. Belgian national Stefaan Boeve, 28, was handed over to Belgian Foreign Minister Karel De Gucht at a ceremony, also attended by members of the abducted man`s family. The Iranian foreign minister reiterated that the release of the Belgian national showed that problems could be solved through negotiations. Appreciating efforts by the Iranian police to release the abducted Belgians, Mottaki said the Islamic Republic of Iran Police (IRIP) secured release of Boeve and another Belgian, Carla Van Den Eeckhoudt, 37, who had been taken hostage and abducted to Pakistan by bandits in Sistan-Baluchestan province more than a month ago.
