FM arrives in New York to attend UN General Assembly

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki arrived here on Friday to attend the United Nations General Assembly due to begin on Tuesday.
Mottaki is expected to participate in a meeting on Iraq on Saturday.
The meeting is organized by the UN and the government of Iraq to discuss the latest developments in the war-torn country.
Mottaki will discuss Tehran`s stands on Iraq`s situation during the meeting.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly stressed it would support a powerful and united Iraq with a powerful government.
Tehran has also called for non-interference of foreign powers in Iraq`s internal affairs.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is also expected to arrive in New York on Sunday to attend the UN General Assembly.
