Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki in a message to `Peace and Humanitarian Rights` conference underlined peace consolidation and observing humanitarian rights are in Iran`s diplomacy agenda. The message was read by a foreign ministry diplomat in the inauguration ceremony of conference here on Monday afternoon. Mottaki, in parts of the message, said `Islamic Republic of Iran is inspired by Islamic thought and by being aware of the role of peace in maintaining human greatness, has always tried to maintain and consolidate peace and observe humanitarian rights as an agenda in its diplomacy. ` The message went on to say, `Mankind has always wished to have peace in the whole history and has tried hard to achieve that. Besides, the emphasis of the World Declaration on Human Rights, the United Nations Charter, Peace Statement on natural equality of mankind, justice, peaceful settlement of disputes, decolonialism and removing discrimination indicate the depth and extent of the viewpoint in the world. ` Historical experience of mankind showed that any kind of peace without basic elements, that is justice, equality and freedom, cannot long last, Mottaki said. He went on to say, `While all international bodies and the world media work together to release a western hostage, nothing is done to make aware people about the fate of Guantanamo`s prisoners or other prisoners in Iraq and Palestine prisons. ` `This situation is shameful for today`s human beings, so we call world community to move in direction of observing humanitarian rights and achieving peace,` the message read. The one-day conference started its work here on Monday afternoon. The sponsors of the conference are International Committee of Red Cross, Organization to Defend Violence Victims and Iran`s Society of Red Crescent.
