Iranian, Romanian FMs meet in New York

Iranian foreign minister met and conferred with his Romanian counterpart on Thursday on the sidelines of the 62nd session of the United Nations General Assembly. Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said in the meeting that Iran and Romania enjoy long friendly relations and both countries are able to take major strides in boosting bilateral relations in light of their capacities. Noting that Iran`s annual 30 to 35 billion dollar transactions are focused on certain few countries in Europe, Mottaki said Iran is keen to expand relations with all European states in proportion to their respective capacities. Romanian Foreign Minister Adrian Mihai Cioroianu in the meeting referred to the two-way amicable relations and said his country is poised to expand relations with Iran in all fields especially economic affairs. He said Romania is a European state which is on friendly terms with Iran and is willing to expand bilateral relations.
