Iranian and Austrian foreign ministers in New York on Thursday conferred on bilateral and international issues. Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and his Austrian counterpart Ursula Plassnik held meeting on the sidelines of 62nd General Assembly of the United Nations. They referred to the history of Tehran-Vienna close ties, emphasizing the need for promoting relations. The Iranian foreign minister meanwhile elaborated on latest developments in the course of Iran`s cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog, aimed at solving the remaining issues about Iran`s nuclear program, stressing the need for European countries` alertness in facing the sabotage led by certain powers, to disrupt the process of Iran-IAEA cooperation. Dr Plassnik, expressed satisfaction with the expanding trend of bilateral ties in various fields, including the ever increasing presence of Austrian companies at industrial and energy projects of Iran. She noted that Austria recognizes the significant role played by Iran as a superior regional power, asking for continued dialogue among civilizations and religions, to boost international understanding among various nation.
