President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday evening that Tehran would firmly continue its cooperation with the United Nations nuclear watchdog. `Iran will continue its peaceful nuclear activities within the framework of international rules and under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA),` the president said in a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held at the end of his day-long visit to Iran. Lavrov left Tehran early Wednesday morning after discussing major regional and international developments with President Ahmadinejad and Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki. Lavrov submitted a message to the Iranian president from his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. President Ahmadinejad further voiced Iran`s willingness to promote bilateral ties with Russia. Lavrov, for his part, felicitated President Ahmadinejad for Iran`s successful conducting of the Caspian Sea summit in Tehran on October 16. The Russian minister also called for continuation of Iran-IAEA cooperation and underscored the need for further promotion of Tehran-Moscow cooperation.
